John Johnson, left and Micah Crandall-Bear at the opening of their show Groundswell September 26th, 2015

Groundswell started as an art collaboration between Sacramento painter, Micah Crandall-Bear and Seattle Photographer, John Johnson. After a successful show at Sacramento's Warehouse Artist Lofts in September of 2015, Johnson moved to Sacramento and the two artists formed the Groundswell Gallery.

Groundswell is a contemporary art gallery that aims to contribute to the exciting growth of Sacramento's art scene. Its charter is to be “a gallery for artists by artists” and features an artist/gallery commission split that favors the artist. Sacramento's favorite Australian, Jaime Caluya has joined to curate the gallery.

Groundswell Gallery proudly opens for Second Saturday in February 2018 with a solo show from Oakland based artist Ryan Bucko.
Artist reception: Saturday, February 10th 6-10pm
