Mansion Apartments
1517 H Street, SACRAMENTO, CA
Located on the site of the former Mansion Inn Hotel, Mansion Apartments celebrates the location’s mid-century roots while offering distinctly contemporary style. We took great pride in curating a truly incredible collection of primarily original artwork for this very special property. From sculpted wood to fiber art to paintings to a custom sculpture (coming late 2022) the visual experience of Mansion Apartments is compelling and unique.

The sculpted wood front door by Sacramento artist Julian Sander provides a striking first visual experience at Mansion Apartments.

An original painting by California artist Gordon Studer at the front desk.

Custom screen shape artwork by Hayley Sheldon in the conference room.

Extra large statement art by California painter Terri Froelich in the lounge.
Each corridor at Mansion Apartments was built with an extra large artwork niche, which we filled with oversized fiber artworks made by Erin Burgman. They are stunning!

Echoing the visual experience of entering the front door of the building, each floor of Mansion Apartments features wood wall sculptures at all elevator entrances. These works were also made by Julian Sander.

Inspired by shapes and textures observed in the urban setting of Sacramento, these pieces can read as city scapes.

John Johnson, co-owner of Groundswell, designed floor to ceiling wall coverings for the corridors.
John also designed wall coverings for the mailroom, featuring vintage photos of the former Mansion Inn Hotel and surrounds.

We created canvas gallery wrapped prints of works by California artist Mary Kercher for the corridors and model unit. Not only the artwork itself, but the extra thick wood frames connect these works to the Mansion Apts aesthetic.
