“This new body of work is my attempt to discard some of the more graphic and bright hues I have historically included in my art. In these pieces, I distilled down my palette and imagery in order to concentrate on tone, texture, and form. Using these fundamental elements, I rendered memories of specific times and places in the natural world into these simple, abstract compositions. Creating these works has been a cerebral exercise in reduction—which is a focus I currently feel inclined and inspired by in all areas of my life.” ~JK
