Embracing the Unknown

“This series developed purely out of experimentation with paint and shapes. For the first time, I combined geometric images and intuition. I was led to an in-depth discovery of symbols, both American Indian and Hobo (vagabonds). Both used symbols to communicate, and I discovered many similarities between the two which influenced my mark-making and brought forth these new works.

What came up for me during the painting process? Allowing myself to become comfortable with the unknown. I am embracing this companion ‘unknown’ with curiosity and trust.” ~MK
