Transition is a series of paintings that reminisce upon century-old Russian folktales, featuring mystical animal and floral motifs from Soviet illustrator G.G. Bedarov. A feminine figure rests on a bed of flowers, sleeps while swan-geese fly overhead and dreams in a cypress grove. As we watch her transition from wakefulness to sleep, she transcends the viewer into her fairy tale memoirs, ones we have to pull from our childhoods to remember.
